The MDI Softball Team traveled up to Old Town Friday afternoon, May 4th and fell to the Coyotes 14-4. The Coyotes jumped out to a 12-0 lead at the end of 3 innings before the Trojans were able to get on the scoreboard.

For MDI Lindsey McEachern and Madison Thornton each were 3-4 at the plate, with Thornton banging out a double. Mackenzie Dyer was 2-3 and Madison Neale had a single for MDI. Thornton drove in 3 runs and Neale had a stolen base.

For Old Town McKenna Smith was 3-4 with a triple. Jayden Cain and Olivia Albert had 2 hits, while Mikayla Kenny and Hannah Sibley each had a single.Smith had 2 stolen bases and Albert swiped 1 base.

Lindsey McEachern took the loss for MDI throwing a complete game allowing 9 hits and 14 runs although only 5 were earned. She struck out 10 and walked 2.

McKenna Smith picked up the win for Old Town, going the distance. She gave up 9 hits, 4 runs, 2 of which were earned. She struck out 16 and walked 1.

MDI is now 2-2 and will play Foxcroft Academy on Saturday, May 5th at 12 Noon in Dover-Foxcroft.

Old Town is 4-1 and will play at Washington Academy on Saturday, May 5th at 12 Noon in East Machias.
