This pandemic, which now has lasted almost a year has been tough! The stay at home orders, the quarantining, the social distancing has taken its toll, and even more so on the elderly, and those living alone. That's why MDI Hospital has teamed up with Healthy Acadia's Maine RecoveryCorps to provide a social call service.

According to MDI Hospital's website,

  •  Calls are made by trained recovery coaches who can connect community members with additional resources and support services or simply provide a kind ear for those wanting to talk.
  • Social calls offer an opportunity for connection and can serve to buffer the negative effects of physical distancing. They are not intended to replace an individual’s need to connect with their mental health professional.

If you would like to receive a social call from a trained volunteer, click here to submit your request online. You may also connect with your health care provider who can submit a referral on your behalf.

If you need help filling out this form, or would like to provide the information over the phone,  please call Beth Alteri of Healthy Acadia at (207) 460-2312 or email SocialCalls@HealthyAcadia.org.
