
MDI Girls/Boys and Ellsworth Girls/Boys Head to The County – Friday January 24
The MDI and Ellsworth Girls and Boys Basketball Teams are taking the long drive up I-95 to Aroostook County to play Presque Isle and Caribou this weekend
On Friday, the Trojans will take on Presque Isle with the Girls playing at 6 p.m. and the Boys playing at 7:30 p.m. while the Eagles take on Caribou with the Girls playing at 6 p.m and the boys playing at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the Trojans will take on Caribou with the Girls playing at 1 p.m. and the Boys playing at 2:30 p.m. while the Eagles will take on Presque Isle with the Girls playing at 1 p.m. and the Boys playing at 2:30 p.m.
The MDI games on Friday and Saturday will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alex enabled device
The Ellsworth games on Friday and Saturday will be be broadcast on 101.9 The Rock Internet Radio, on their free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device
MDI Girls
They enter Friday night's game with a 8-5 record, coming off an impressive win at Hermon on Wednesday night, snapping a 3-game losing streak. The Trojans are in 4th place in the Class B Northern Maine Heal Point Standings.
Ellsworth Girls
They enter Friday night's game with a 9-4 record. The Eagles are in 6th place in the Class B Northern Maine Heal Point Standings. The Eagles have been off since Monday, when they traveled to Foxcroft Academy and came away with a dominant win
MDI Boys.
The Trojans enter Friday night's game with a 7-6 win, which puts them in 9th place in the Class B Northern Maine Heal Point Standings. They are just .17 points over the Presque Isle Wildcats who are in 10th place. There are only 7.22 Heal points between 5th and 10th place in the middle of the Class B Northern Maine Heal Point Standings. The Trojans lost to Hermon in their last game on Tuesday.
Ellsworth Boys
The Eagles enter Friday night's game with a 11-1 record, which puts them in 2nd place in the Class B Northern Maine Heal Point Standings, trailing only Caribou which has played 2 more games than Ellsworth. The Eagles should be rested, having last played on Friday, January 17th when they beat John Bapst at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
Presque Isle
The Presque Isle Girls begin Friday's play with a 8-6 record, in 8th place in the Class B North Heal Point Standings while the Presque Isle Boys are 7-6 in 10th place.
Caribou
The Caribou Girls begin Friday's play with a 12-1 record, in 1st place in the Class B North Heal Point Standings, their lone loss coming against MDI on the Island on December 21st.
The Caribou Boys begin Friday's play with a 13-1 record, in 1st place in the Class B North Heal Point Standings. Caribou's lone loss came to Ellsworth on December 20th.
