The MDI Girls Basketball Team beat Ellsworth 42-35 in the final regular season game of the season for the 2 teams, in Bar Harbor on Wednesday February 5th. The win by MDI means they'll enter the playoffs as the 7th seed and will host Ellsworth the 10th seed in a prelim game on Tuesday, February 11th.

MDI jumped out to a 10-7 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Leah Carroll had 4 points for MDI while Olivia Gray, Rachelle Swanson and Elizabeth Jones each chipped in 2 points. For Ellsworth Trinity Montigny had 6 points on 2 3-pointers and Jocelyn Jordan had 1 point.

It was 16-13 MDI at the end of the 1st Half, as the 2 teams deadlocked 6-6 in the 2nd Quarter. Morgan Clifford had a 3-pointer for Ellsworth, Samantha Carter 2 points and Montigny was 1-2 from the free throw line. For MDI Carroll and Jones each had 2 points and Swanson was 2-2 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth outscored MDI 11-10 in the 3rd Quarter to cut MDI's lead to just 2 points 26-24 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Kylie Robidoux had 4 points or Ellsworth with Jordan, Montigny  and Samantha Carter each having 2 points while Sierra Andrews was 1-2 from the free throw line. For MDI Elena Alderman had 5 points with a 3-pointer. Rachelle Swanson was 3-4 from the free throw line and Leah Carroll had 2 more points.

In the 4th Quarter Ellsworth hung in until the very last minutes.Sierra Andrews and Morgan Clifford each had a 3-pointer for the Eagles. Jocelyn Jordan and Autumn Paul each had 2 points while Casey Carter was 1-2 from the free throw line. MDI was 6-10 from the free throw line in the final quarter. Jones and Carroll each had 4 points. Emily Carter, Elena Alderman and OIivia Gray each had 2 points while Rachelle Swanson was 1-2 from the free throw line.

MDI was led by Leah Carroll with a game high 12 points. Elizabeth Jones had 9 points. Jones led the Trojans with 11 reboundsThe Trojans were 15-20 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth was led by Trinity Montigny with 9 points and Morgan Clifford had 6 points. Jocelyn Jordan had 8 rebounds to lead the Eagles. The Eagles were 4-10 from the free throw line.

MDI finishes the regular season with an 11-7 record while Ellsworth finishes with a 10-8 record.
