The MDI Girls Soccer Team shut out the Old Town Coyotes 7-0 on Saturday morning , September 14th, on Alumni Field in Bar Harbor.

Daisy Granholm and Lelia Weir led the Trojans with 4 goals and 1 assist and 2 goals and 2 assists respectively.

Granholm started the scoring early in the 1st Half, with a goal at 34:05 with an assist from Mei Cook.

Weir scored her 1st goal of the game from 35 yards out. Granholm scored her 2nd goal with a through ball provided by Weir.

Rachel Leonard assisted on Granholm's 3rd goal, while Weir provided the assist on Granholm's 4 goal of the game and last of the half, with 7:33 remaining in the 1st Half.

MDI led 5-0  at the half.

In the 2nd half, Weir scored her 2nd goal of the game with 3 minutes elapsed, with an assist by Granholm.

Hannah St. Amand scored her 1st goal of the season with 11:26 remaining, from a rebound on Granholm's free kick.

Sabine Costello-Sanders and Haley Leonardi combined for the MDI shutout. Mikayla Kenny was in goal for Old Town.

MDI, now 3-1 will play at Brewer on Tuesday, September 17th at 5PM.

Old Town is 0-1-1 and plays host to Ellsworth on Monday, September 16th at 4PM
