MDI Boys Soccer Beats Foxcroft Academy 3-0 Advance to Northern Maine Finals Wednesday

The #3 seeded MDI Trojans beat the #10 seeded Foxcroft Academy Ponies 3-0 on Saturday night, November 2nd in the Class B North semifinals at Alumni Field in Bar Harbor.

MDI scored with just 1:44 gone in the game as Leao Nelson converted a penalty kick.

The score stayed 1-0 through the end of the 1st Half.

In the 2nd Half Ieuan Howell scored with 33:17 to put the Trojans up 2-0.

Nelson again converted a penalty kick with 24:29 left in the 2nd Half to complete the scoring.

Foxcroft Academy finishes the season 9-8. They had advanced to the semifinals by upsetting the #2 seeded Winslow Black Raiders 2-1

MDI, now 12-2-2 will play the top-seeded Caribou Vikings on Wednesday, November 6th at 4PM in the Class B Northern Maine Finals at Hampden Academy. Caribou beat Presque Isle 3-0 in the other semi-final on Saturday afternoon. Caribou and MDI played to a 1-1 draw in Bar Harbor on September 25th.
