The game was MDI's Breast Cancer Awareness game, with the girls wearing pink socks and pink markings on their face to show their support for those who have had and those who currently are battling breast cancer.

Julia Rush put MDI on the scoreboard scoring on a rebound from Daisy Granholm's shot with 9:05 left in the 1st Half.

With a little over 4 minutes gone(36:08) in the 2nd Half, Granholm scored her 1st goal of the game, which tied the MDI all time high school record of 36 goals in a season, a record held by her mother, Whitney (Williams) Granholm, when MDI's defense made some huge saves off of Foxcroft's offensive attack. Cadii Howell cleared the ball from MDI's end line down the left side, meeting Zoe Olson who dribbled 30 yards before finding Granholm in the middle of the field.

Granholm almost scored 20 seconds later when her shot from the left end line floated just over the crossbar, coming to rest on the top of the net.

Foxcroft's Kamryn Commeau scored at the 34:47 mark to make the score MDI 2-1.

At 26:40 Foxcroft Academy took a free kick in their defensive end, with Olson winning the ball out of the air for the Trojans. Using a 2 touch volley she found Granholm at the 40 yard line. She made her way down the right side of the field and beat the Ponies' defense before scoring. The goal was her 37th of the season and 2nd of the game.

With 17:40 remaining in the game, Emma Freudig took a throw-in to Granholm who crossed the ball over to Olson who 1-touched the ball into the back of the net from the 6 yard line.

The final goal of the came with 16;39 left, when MDI's offense worked the ball down the field with 1-2 touch passing from Olson to Lelia Weir to Hannah St. Amand and then to Granholm for her hat trick.

Sabine Costello-Sanders and Hannah Goodwin shared duties in goal for MDI while Olivia Hall was in net for the Ponies.

MDI now 11-2 will play host to Ellsworth on Monday, October 21st at 6 PM on Senior Recognition Night.

Foxcroft Academy is 5-8-1 and will be in a prelim game
