The MDI Girls Soccer Team defeated the Foxcroft Academy Ponies 3-2 in overtime at Alumni Field in Bar Harbor on Saturday afternoon, October 2nd.

Leah Hill put the Ponies on the scoreboard 1st, converting a free kick with just 6:47 gone in the game.

The score remained 1-0 at the end of the 1st Half.

MDI's Lelia Weir tied it with 5:12 gone in the 2nd Half, assisted by Alla Hanley.

Samantha Ossenfort put Foxcroft in the lead, with 32:38 remaining in the game.

Sophia Anderson tied it, assisted by Weir, 2:10 later.

Regulation ended with the score tied 2-2.

With 1:12 left in the overtime, Elle Yarborough scored the golden goal, from a cross by Lelia Weir to give the Trojans the 3-2 overtime win.

Bella Brown was in goal for the Trojans.

MDI is now 2-6 and will play host to the Presque Isle Wildcats on Tuesday, October 5th.

Foxcroft Academy is 2-5 and will play at John Bapst on Tuesday, October 5th.
