#10 MDI Upsets #7 Erskine Academy 4-1 Sets Up Quarterfinal Match at #2 Ellsworth Wednesday

The #10 MDI Boys Soccer Team upset #7 Erskine Academy 4-1 on Monday in a Class B Prelim game in South China. The win sets up a Quarterfinal game at Ellsworth Wednesday night, at 5:30 p.m., October 25th at Del Luce Stadium.

MDI scored 1st, with a goal by Martin Hurley with 13:58 remaining in the1st Half.

The Trojans led 1-0 at the end of the 1st Half.

In the 2nd Half, MDI scored quickly to make it 2-0 as Thad Leo found the back of the net with 45 seconds gone..

Erskine scored to make it 2-1 with 34:02 remaining.

Matt Levesque scored with 29:20 remaining, assisted by Colin Sullivan to put MDI ahead 3-1.

Kaden Sweet scored with 3:28 remaining in the game to make the final 4-1.

MDI is now 6-7-2 on the season. They take on 11-2-1 Ellsworth on Wednesday. The 2 teams met twice in the regular season with Ellsworth winning on September 28th 2-0, and the the 2 teams playing to a 1-1 draw on October 16th in the last game of the regular season.

Erskine Academy ends their season with a 8-7 record.
