MDI Girls Soccer Beats Brewer 2-1

The MDI Girls Soccer Team defeated the Brewer Witches on Saturday, October 5th under the lights at Alumni Field in Bar Harbor by the score of 2-1.

Daisy Granholm tallied MDI's first goal, scoring with 4:21 gone in the 1st Half. Cadii Howell carried the ball up the field, finding Lelia Weir who then crossed the ball to Granholm who found the back of the net.

MDI's Granholm scored again, this time 5 minutes later when Weir chipped the ball into the middle off of a corner.

MDI led 2-0 at the end of the 1st Half.

Brewer's Sarah Kiley scored for the Witches with 15:20 remaining in regulation off of a scramble on a corner kick.

Sabine Costello-Sanders started in goal for the Trojans but was forced to come out with 24:13 remaining in the game after suffering an injury. Haley Leonardi finished the game for the Trojans. Bella Tanis was in goal for the Witches.

MDI is now 8-1 and will play at Old Town on Tuesday, October 8th at 4PM

Brewer is 2-7-1 and will play at Oxford Hills on Wednesday, October 9th at 5PM
