The MDI Girl's Softball Team traveled to Husson University on Tuesday, May 27th and put on a hitting display, as the team combined for 22 hits, as the Trojans defeated the Crusaders 13-4. Eleven of the fourteen MDI batters had hits.

MDI was led by

Shelby O'Neil who was 3-5 with 2 RBIs including a double and triple.

Sierra Myrick was 2-5 with 1 RBI and a double

Hannah Shaw was 4-4 with a double.

Avalon Kerley was 2-3

Molly Carroll was 2-4 with 1 RBI

Deandra Kanu was 2-2 with 3 RBIs and a triple

Cassidy Parady was 2-3 with a RBI

Katie Gaurino was 1-2 with a RBI

Julianna Cleaves was 1-3

Anna Busker was 1-2

Haley Littlefield was 2-3 with a RBI.

Haley Littlefield picked up the victory, pitching 5 innings, and Aubrie Boyce closed on the game pitching the final 2 innings. Combined they gave up 8 hits, 4 runs none of which were earned, walked 1 and struck out 9

With the victory, MDI is now 8-5 on the season. They play a doubleheader Saturday, May 31st at home, against Caribou at 12 Noon and 2 PM, before finishing the season at Ellsworth on Tuesday, June 3rd at 4:30 PM

John Bapst is now 5-7. They play Thursday, May 29th at 4:30 home against Lee Academy, a doubleheader home Saturday May 31 against Old Town at 11 AM and 1 PM and then finish the season home against Foxcroft Academy, Tuesday June 3rd at 4:30 PM.
