MDI Football Falls to Waterville 50-40 in Playoffs [PHOTOS]

The MDI Football Team traveled to Waterville on Friday afternoon, falling to the Waterville Panthers 50-40.

While we couldn't be there to broadcast the game because of other commitments, we want to congratulate the team on a successful inaugural 8-man season. After a year without football because of COVID you represented yourselves, your school, your family and community with pride and maximum effort. Many of you played positions that you hadn't played before and learned while you played. The growth from late August to late October was palpable and could be seen by everyone.

It's been a tradition to play Kenny Chesney's "Boys of Fall" during the last broadcasts of the year. We weren't able to do that last weekend, and we'll do it now here

To the Seniors - Nathan Lawson, AJ Lozano, Wilder Noyes, and Alex Fernald, you have set a standard for the "new" MDI 8-man football program. We will miss your leadership, and thank-you for your efforts.

We can't let the season go by, without thanking the MDI Trojans Fall Cheerleaders. You have been on the road and home with the team, the entire season, through some really nasty weather, and yet you too were smiling, cheering and representing the school and community when others couldn't be there. You did a great job!
