The MDI Unified Basketball Team opened their 2016-17 season on Monday, February 6th playing host to the Brewer Witches' Unified Team.  The atmosphere was fantastic as the MDI Cheerleaders were there, the Brewer Unified Cheerleaders were there, Troy the Trojan was there as well as lots of fans! Smiles and high fives were the rule!

Brewer won the game 77-52, but anyone in attendance can agree that both teams and the spectators were the winners. If you haven't been to a Unified game, you need to go. Games last a little over a hour, and it's the best thing you can do for yourself! It's a mental recharging, because you'll be smiling for a hour!

In the game for MDI Zachary Johnson had 20 points, Faith Mitchell had 14 points, Cameron Swan had 8 points, Nellie Page had 6 points and Aaron Lichenstein had 4 points.

For Brewer Jacob Gray had 20 points with 2 3-pointers, Michael Mayo had 14 points, Miles Adams had 11 points with a 3-pointer, Aaron Adams had 10 points, Kyle Grant had 10 points, Clancy Brazier had 8 points with 2 3-pointers, and Robben Harris had 4 points.

The MDI Unified Team plays Orono Wednesday February 8th at 5 PM and the next game for the Brewer Unified Team is Thursday February 9th at 5:30 PM at Hampden Academy.
