Lydia Carter Receives Bucksport High School’s Principal’s Award

Bucksport High School Principal Aaron Ward announced that  Lydia Carter of Bucksport, a senior at Bucksport High School, has been selected to receive the 2026 Principal's Award.

The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in
recognition of a high school senior's academic achievement and citizenship.

Principal Ward said

“Lydia represents the very best of our school community. Through her outstanding academic commitment, exceptional work ethic, engagement in the arts, and natural
leadership, she consistently sets a high standard for those around her. Lydia’s positivity, willingness to support others, and dedication to giving back through
community service reflect the character and values we strive to cultivate in all of our students.”

Lydia Carter and Aaron Ward, along with other award winners and their principals will attend an Honors Luncheon at Jeff’s Catering on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 12:30 p.m.

The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of ten $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler, and Richard A. Durost.
