MDI Baseball Beats Bucksport 2-1 [PHOTOS]

The MDI Trojans beat the Bucksport Golden Bucks 2-1 on Monday, June 1st in Bar Harbor.

All the runs were scored in the 1st inning, with Bucksport plating 1 run in the top of the 1st and MDI answered with 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st. From there, Preston Tripp for the Trojans and Trent Goss from Bucksport shut down the opposing batters.

Tripp pitched a complete game, getting the win for MDI. He allowed just 3 hits and struck out 7, walking 2.

Goss was the tough-luck loser for Bucksport. He allowed 6 hits and struck out 8, and didn't walk a batter.

Colin Sullivan was 3-3 with a triple for the Trojans. Tripp was 1-3. Alex Roos was 1-3 and Garrett Umphrey was 1-3.

Roos, Cameron Graham, Sullivan and Tripp each had a stolen base for MDI.

Matt Curtis was 1-2 with a RBI for Bucksport. Goss and Dawson Sukeforth each had a single.

MDI is now 11-4.They will close out the regular season on Tuesday, June 2nd , when they play the Ellsworth Eagles in Ellsworth at 4:30 p.m.

Bucksport closes out the regular season with a  10-6 record, and will play in the Class C playoffs.
