Loaves and Fishes Needs Donations for Thanksgiving
November is a time to give thanks, and to remember all of our blessings. For as long as I have lived in Maine, I have been astonished at Mainer's generosity and their willingness to help their fellow Mainers in time of need.
The Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in Ellsworth is asking for donations to help their food pantry clients to have a Happy Thanksgiving. They are providing food to 400 to 450 families on a weekly basis.
They are looking for the following
- Turkeys of all sizes
- Boxes or bags of stuffing
- Canned corn and green beans
- Cans of cranberry sauce
- Pies of any kind
- Rolls
- Jars or cans of gravy
Donations may be dropped off at Loaves and Fishes 137 Downeast Highway (Route 1 North, next to Darling's Chevrolet), on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Turkeys for Food Pantry clients will be available on Wednesday, November 20th, Friday, November 22nd and Monday, November 25th.
