Unofficially trailing John Stein by 56 votes, for the final spot on the Ellsworth City Council, John Linnehan has requested a recount, which will take place on Thursday, November 10th at 10 a.m.

Jon Stein unofficially had 1282 votes while John Linnehan had 1226 votes. As it stands, Stein will join Michelle Beal and Tammy Mote on the City Council, pending the recount.

The recount will take place Thursday morning, November 10th beginning at 10 a.m. The recount, which will be a manual recount, will be broadcast on the City of Ellsworth's Facebook Page and You Tube Channel. Members of the public are invited to view in person.

The City Clerk's Office will be closed all day Thursday, November 10th. This means there will be no Birth, Death and Marriage certificates, Dog Licenses, Hunting or Fishing Licenses, ATV/Boat Registrations or Business Licenses. The rest of City Hall will be open.

The recount will be for votes for John Linnehan and Jon Stein.

The cost of the recount is estimated to cost $3250 and Candidate Linnehan needs to post bond/check for $2427.26. He will be eligible for any refund or required to pay any overage based upon the actual time it takes for the manual recount., as well as supplies that the City needs.
