John Bapst Rallies to Nip Ellsworth Girls 42-39 [RECAP/STATS]

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team was up 18-10 at the end of the 1st Half, but the John Bapst Crusaders rallied to outscore Ellsworth 16-7 in the 3rd Quarter to take a 26-25 lead and hung on to beat the Eagles 42-39 in Ellsworth on Wednesday afternoon, February 17th.

Ellsworth jumped out to a 10-8 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Autumn Paul had 4 points for Ellsworth, Morgan Clifford hit a 3-pointer. Casey Carter had 2 points and Samantha Carter was 1-2 from the free throw line for the Eagles. For John Bapst Savannah Libby hit 2 3-pointers and Lacey Scanlon had 2 points.

In the 2nd Quarter Ellsworth extended their lead, outscoring John Bapst 8-2 to take a 18-10 lead at the Half. Kylie Robidoux, Jocelyn Jordan, Casey Carter and Samantha Higgins each had a basket for Ellsworth. For John Bapst Kate Harriman was 2-2 from the free throw line for the Crusaders' points.

In the 3rd Quarter John Bapst outscored Ellsworth 16-7 to take a 26-25 lead. Jamie McQuarrie had 7 points including a 3-pointer. Lacey Scanlon had 5 points with a 3-pointer and Kate Harriman added 4 points. For Ellsworth Jocelyn Jordan had 4 points, Kylie Robidoux 2 points and Samantha Carter was 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 4th Quarter, Lacey Scanlon drained 2 3-pointers for John Bapst, Jayden Schoppee had 4 points, Asia Dube had 4 points going 2-2 from the free throw line and Kate Harriman had 2 points. For Ellsworth Kylie Robidoux had 5 points, Samantha Higgins 4 points, Ella Hubbard a 3-pointer and Jocelyn Jordan 2 points.

Ellsworth was led by Kylie Robidoux with 9 points and Jocelyn Jordan had 8 points. Ellsworth was 3-8 from the free throw line.

John Bapst was paced by Lacey Scanlon with a game high 13 points. while Kate Harriman had 8 points. The Crusaders were 4-7 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth plays at Bangor on Friday, February 19th at 7 p.m.
