The Boston Red Sox open the 2013 season on Monday, April 1st in New York against the New York Yankees. Let's face it, the 2012 campaign was just one giant April Fool's joke as the Sox struggled the entire year, and struggle is a nice way to put it.

The 2013 roster has been restructured. There's a new manager with John Farrell, a lot of new coaches, including Maine's Brian Butterfield. Rookie Jackie Bradley Jr. has brought  a lot of excitement. Spring training was quiet. It would appear that the Sox pitcher's have rebounded from injuries especially Lester and Bucholz. But David Ortiz is starting the season on the disabled list and Stephen Drew is on the 7 day list because of post-concussion symptoms. They are also relying on John Lackey, someone I'll never have confidence in as a pitcher, even though he's had a good Spring and has recovered from Tommy John surgery.

Nevertheless, this is the time when Hope Springs Eternal! So my question is this
