The Boston Red Sox fell to the Minnesota Twins 3-1 on Saturday in Minnesota.
With 3/5 of the starting rotation still on the injured list, the Red Sox turned to the bullpen, with 5 pitchers pitching on Saturday. Combined they allowed 8 hits and 3 runs, 2 of which were earned. They struck out 8 and only walked 1.
Good news for Boston in that Nick Pivetta made a rehab start on May 2nd, and is expected to be activated for the Atlanta series May 7-8. Brayan Bello is expected to return around May 13th with Garrett Whitlock returning towards the end of May.
Wilyer Abreu batting cleanup was 2-4 with a run batted in.
Tyler O'Neill had a double and was 1-4.
Dominic Smith was the designated hitter and was 2-4
