Mainers taking care of Mainers and those they love! I am constantly amazed at the generosity of Mainers to help fellow Mainers and their seemingly unending generosity. Here's another example! The Southwest Food Mart in Southwest Harbor is collecting cash donations and new toys for children attending the Pemetic,Tremont, Islesford, and Frenchboro schools who might not have a happy holiday without some help.

The Food Mart has set a lofty goal of $2500 cash, and as of November 19th they're at $1300

When I spoke to the staff at the Southwest Food Mart on Tuesday, November 19th and asked what the children were asking for, they told me warm clothes and small items/toys.

If you are a parent of a child attending the Pemetic School, Tremont School, Islesford School or , Frenchboro School, you should contact the school nurse, guidance counselor or principal so they can let the Southwest Food Mart know about sizes, wishes etc. You can also let Morgan Reed at the Southwest Food Mart know by email . Please do so by December 8th.
