Future of Plastic Bags in Ellsworth to Be Discussed on October 18th
The Ellsworth Green Plan, a citizen group, is working on a draft ordinance , to present to the City of Ellsworth with the intent of banning single use plastic bags within the City . To that extent, the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce will be presenting a free panel discussion and forum on a draft ordinance for single use plastic bags and how it could affect businesses and the community in Ellsworth.
The forum and panel discussion will take place on Thursday, October 18th from 8 to 9:30AM in the Ellsworth City Hall Auditorium. Panelists include Curtis Picard the Director of the Maine Retail Association, Tom Peaco, the Director of the Pen Bay Chamber and a Representative from the Ellsworth Green Plan Group. Representatives from the City of Ellsworth will be on hand to answer questions regarding ordinances.
The Forum is free and open to the community. A complimentary continental breakfast and coffee will be available.
