Motorists driving on Water Street and the Bayside Road in Ellsworth should consider using alternate routes through the month of September or at the very least be mindful of Emera Maine's line crews who are in the process of replacing utility poles.

The work, which began on August 27th includes the installation of new poles and anchors in the area between R.F. Jordan & Sons Construction on Water Street and Chester Jones Way on the Bayside Road. Crews will be working 7:30AM to 4PM, normally Monday through Thursday, but there may be instances when they are working on Fridays and outside these "normal" hours.

The purpose of the project is to ensure reliable delivery of electricity to local customers and those on Mount Desert Island.

When traveling, please be mindful of signs indicating road work and avoid distractions while driving, move over far enough to give line crews room to work and slow down to pass workers at a safe speed.
