The good news is that the winds seem to be abating somewhat as of 12:30 on Friday, November 1st, although the High Wind Warning remains in effect through 6 PM tonight for Coastal and Interior Hancock and Washington Counties. The bad news is that there are 53,261 Emera Maine customers without power.

The majority of Emera Maine line crews are focused on addressing reports of downed power lines to ensure public safety. Others are addressing outages on the transmission system and at substations, which are the backbone of the electrical system. Restoration efforts are expected to continue through the weekend.

With temperatures expected to fall into the lower 30's on Friday night, and only into the mid 40's on Saturday, you should be making plans during daylight in the event you will be without power tonight and into the weekend, as this will be a multi-day power outage.
