Much progress has been made in restoring power, but there are still 13,295 Emera Maine customers without power as of 5:30 AM on Friday, October 18th, with 10,068 in Hancock County and 2,269 in Washington County.

Crews are continuing to make repairs to bring the largest number of customers back online first, working toward smaller outages and more remote locations.

Temperatures for Downeast Maine are expected to be in the lower 50's on Friday, with nighttime lows in the lower 40's.

If we hear of any shelters opening in Hancock or Washington Counties we will be sure to post them, but remember public libraries are a good place to warm up and recharge electronics provided they have electricity.

The next update will be issued by Emera Maine at 11 AM
