Ellsworth Winter Carnival This Weekend Goes On Despite Lack of Snow
The lack of snow has caused many events to be postponed or cancelled outright, but the fun will continue this weekend with Winter Carnival in Ellsworth.
The bad news -The lack of snow means no snow shoe races, no cardboard sled races, and no snowmobile rides.
The good news - Fireworks will be shot off at Ellsworth High School on Saturday, February 9th at 7PM. There's the Open Mic Night at The Grand at 8PM. During the day, the Ice Skating rink at Knowlton Park will be open from 7AM-7PM. The Down East Family YMCA will host open swim for all ages on Saturday from 4 to 6 PM and the 2nd Annual Ice Fishing Derby will take place
While you are out and about don't forget to stop by the Ellsworth Hannaford on Saturday, February 9th from 10-2 where we will be collecting pasta for our 17th Annual Ton of Pasta Food Drive with everything donated given to the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, Emmaus Shelter and Bar Harbor Food Pantry.
