Ellsworth Water Department Issues Boil Water Order [UPDATE]
UPDATE - Friday April 21 - The Boil Water Order has been lifted as of 1:20 p.m.
The Ellsworth Water Department's crews were busy working throughout the night, repairing a large water main break on Water Street near Card Brook.
Because of the water main break, the City of Ellsworth has issued a Boil Water Order, which will likely be in place until late Thursday, April 20th at the earliest.
The Order impacts homes and businesses on Main Street from the Union River Bridge to East Main Street; Union Street and all side streets between Union Street and East Main Street; Beals Avenue and Water Street from Main Street to and including Tinker Farm Way.
A boil water order means that all water used for consumption should be brought to a rolling boil for at least 5 minutes before using.
