The Ellsworth VFW Post 109 has cancelled the 2020 Memorial Day Parade, scheduled for May 25, 2020 to comply with Governor Mills' plan for Reopening the Economy.

Under Stage 1 of the Governor's plan, gatherings of more than 10 people are prohibited during the month of May. VFW Post 109 does plan to honor the fallen, and those who payed the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country, but on a much more smaller scale, and as their Facebook post describes, probably at their Post.

Even though we can't gather for a parade, we can fly the American Flag, and we too can pause that day, and every day and remember those who have died in the service of our country.
