There will be a benefit spaghetti supper on Wednesday, May 20th at Helen's Restaurant in Ellsworth from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m for the family of Grayson Mote. Helen's Restaurant is located at 55 Downeast Highway in Ellsworth.

Suggested minimum donation is $10.00 and dinner will consist of salad, spaghetti and breadstick.

There will also be a silent auction at the event. Anyone looking to donate items may drop them off at the Ellsworth Police Station attention Toni Ryan or at Machias Savings Bank in Ellsworth attention Amanda Tupper.

Grayson died while paddle boarding on Graham Lake, and his body was recovered by a family member. He was 20 years old.

Grayson is the son of Tammy and Kelvin Mote.

A memorial service celebrating Grayson’s life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Ellsworth High School. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grayson Mote Scholarship Fund, c/o Superintendent's Office, 11 Avery Lane, Ellsworth, ME 04605.
