Ellsworth Softball Tames Belfast Lions 7-4

The Ellsworth Softball Team defeated the Belfast Lions in Belfast on Thursday, May 9th.

Makenzie Chipman started in the circle for Ellsworth throwing 4 innings striking out 5 and walking 1, allowing 4 runs and 6 hits. Tyler Hellum came on in relief, and didn't allow a run while striking out 3, and giving up 2 hits.

For Ellsworth Sydney Stevens had 2 hits with a double. Sara Shea, Katie Hammer, Trinity Montigny, Ellie Clark and Isabelle Perry each had a single. Sara Shea and Lexi Rossi each swiped a base.

Gia Davila pitched a complete game for the Lions. She struck out 15 Ellsworth batters while walking 2 and hit a batter.

Sarah Fuller and Maya Cunningham each had 2 singles. Kayci Faulkingham, Karagen Stone, Emma Richards and Oceana Pacholski-Procter each had a single for Belfast.

Ellsworth, now 7-1 will play host to MDI on Monday, May 13th at 4:30
