On a breezy afternoon on the hill at Ellsworth High School, the Ellsworth Softball Team fell to Old Town 12-7.

Old Town scored 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning but Ellsworth battled back and scored 2 in the bottom of the 1st to make it 3-2. Ellsworth scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd to take a 4-3 lead and then added another run in the 3rd inning to take a 5-3 lead. But Old Town batted around in the 5th, scoring 7 runs sending 12 batters to the plate to take a 10-5 lead. Old Town added insurance runs in the 6th and 7th innings while Ellsworth battled back adding 2 runs in the 7th, to make the final 12-7.

Mackenzie Chipman took the loss for Ellsworth while Olivia Albert picked up the win for the Coyotes.

For Ellsworth Sara Shea had a single and 2 stolen bases. Sydney Stevens had a single and a stolen base. Kayla Duhaime had a hit, stole 2 bases and drove in a run. Katie Hammer had a hit and drove in 2 runs. Trinity Montigny had 2 hits, 2 stolen bases and swiped a bag. Ellie Clarke had 1 hit. Abby Moon had a stolen base.

For Old Town, Teagan Blackie had a hit and 2 stolen bases. Olivia Albert had 2 hits and 1 stolen base. Mikayla Kenny had 1 hit, Hannah Sibley had 2 hits and Jayden Cain had 2 hits.

Ellsworth, 1-1 plays host to George Stevens Academy on Wednesday, May 1st at 4:30

Old Town, 3-2 travels to Foxcroft Academy on Wednesday, May 1st at 4:30
