The Ellsworth Softball Team won their 5th game in a row, to improve to 5-1 on the season, defeating the John Bapst Crusaders Thursday afternoon 11-4

Alex Bivins started in the circle for Ellsworth pitching 5 innings, striking out 2, walking 3 and giving up 2 runs, and 6 hits. Tyler Hellum came on in relief throwing the final 2 innings striking out 4 and allowing 2 unearned runs and 2 hits.

The Eagles banged out 15 hits, including

  • Kayla Duhaime - 3 hits with 2 doubles and 1 single
  • Casey Carter - 3 hits with 2 singles and 1 double
  • Morgan Duhaime - 3 singles
  • Sara Shea - 2 hits, 1 double and 1 single
  • Tyler Hellum - 2 singles
  • Annabelle Hackett - 1 double
  • Hannah Wagstaff - 1 single

For the Crusaders Maizy Weirich went 6 innings in the circle, striking out 9 and walking 2. She hit a batter. She allowed all 11 runs

The Crusaders had 8 hits including

  • Olivia Rand - 1 double

Ellsworth will play host to Hermon on Saturday, May 8th at 12 noon.

John Bapst 1-2 plays at Foxcroft Academy on Friday, May 7th.
