The Ellsworth Softball Team picked up a huge Heal Point "worthy" win, defeating the Bucksport Golden Bucks in Bucksport, Tuesday evening, May 4th, 8-5, to give Coach Jake Hackett and pitcher Tyler Hellum a great birthday present!

Ellsworth's batters were in mid-season form, stroking 15 hits in the game, led by Kayla Duhaime who was 2-4 with a double and home run over the left-field fence, driving in 4 runs in the game.

Casey Carter was 3-4, just a home run short of the cycle, as she had a single, double and triple, driving in 2 runs.

Sara Shea, Lexi Rossi, Tyler Hellum and Morgan Duhaime all had 2 hits, each with a single and double.

Alex Bivins and Alicia Havey each had a single.

In the circle, Tyler Hellum, who was also celebrating her birthday, picked up the win, pitching a complete game. She struck out 9, walked 2 and allowed the 5 runs, 3 of which were earned while giving up 6 hits.

For Bucksport, Alexis Wardwell had 2 singles. Allie Pickering had a double. Ella Hosford, Kaylee Morey and Alyssa Maguire all had singles.

Madison Frazier went the distance for Bucksport, striking out 7 and walking 1 while allowing the 9 runs and 15 hits.

Ellsworth now 4-1 will play host to John Bapst on Thursday, May 6th at 4:30 p.m.

Bucksport 3-2 plays host to Oceanside on Friday, May 7th.
