Ellsworth School Budget Vote is Thursday

If you are an Ellsworth resident, you have the opportunity to weigh in on the 2023-2024 Ellsworth School Budget at the polls this Thursday, June 29th.

The polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Polling locations are

• Ward One votes in the Upstairs Auditorium at Ellsworth City Hall, 1 City Hall Plaza, and covers the entire downtown area on the east of the Union River.
• Ward Two votes at Your Place Community Center, 4 Old Mill Road, behind Sunrise Glass
• Ward Three votes in the Gymnasium at the Maine Coast Baptist Church, 867 Bangor Road, on Route 1A and covers north Ellsworth.W
• Ward Four votes in the Council Chambers at Ellsworth City Hall, 1 City Hall Plaza, and covers the Bridge Hill area west of the Union River.

The recommended budget amount of $26,908,373.76. was approved by the Ellsworth City Council on May 8, 2023.  This amount is the combination of state and local funds. The portion of local funds towards the FY 2024 is $13,469,270.78.
