Ellsworth High School’s Guacamole Contest [RESULTS]

Today was Cinco de Mayo, May 5th and Ellsworth High School celebrated with their Annual Guacamole Contest open to all students and staff/faculty.

The esteemed panel of judges had the delicious duty of tasting the entries! Judges were

Noah Didonato, Cady Gleason, Sydney Libby, Juan Gome, Sandra Bukowski and Jillian Bakers. They judged on overall experience, texture, harmony/sophistication of flavors and presentation!

I have to apologize as I was supposed to be a judge, but my wife had plane difficulties returning home from Chicago, and I needed to pick her up in Portland. I've told her she owes me a gallon of guacamole!

When all was said and done, the winners were

1st place- Hector Orozco Delgado (Senior)
2nd place- Bridget Kutny (Junior)
3rd place- Addison Engelhard (Freshman)

With tours of Bangor's iconic Thomas Hill Standpipe canceled for 2024 and 2025 due to necessary repairs and maintenance, we wanted to take a look back at the last time visitors ascended its 100-step staircase to enjoy panoramic views of our Pine Tree State.
