The City of Ellsworth Public Works Division has announced that they will be working on Hancock Street September 9-11, and will return to finish up on Monday, September 15th and possibly Tuesday, September 16th.

Crews will be installing insertion valves and improving drainage in anticipation of Northeast Paving paving the road.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Hancock Street, from Pine Street to Elm Street will be closed to traffic during work hours (approximately 6 am to 4:30 p.m, but will reopen each evening
  • Elm Street (on the Hancock Street end) will be closed during the same hours, but you will be still able to access Elm Street from Hancock Street.
