The Ellsworth Girls Soccer Team defeated MDI 4-1 Wednesday night, September 29th at Del Luce Stadium in Ellsworth.

MDI took a 1-0 lead when Lelia Weir scored with just 2:20 elapsed.

The score stayed 1-0 Trojans for the majority of the 1st Half, until Addi Laslie scored, with the assist credited to Alex Bivins.

The score was deadlocked 1-1 at the Half and stayed that way until nearly 10 minutes had gone in the 2nd Half. Laslie scored her 2nd goal of the game, with an assist from Paige Sawyer.

Laslie tallied her 3rd goal and hat-trick 3:07 later, with an assist from Casey Carter.

Ellsworth added an insurance goal with 20:35 remaining, when Morgan Clifford served the corner into the box, and Paige Sawyer found the back of the net, for the final score 4-1.

Ellsworth is now 6-1 and will travel up to Caribou on Saturday, October 2nd to play the Vikings.

MDI is now 1-6 and hosts Foxcroft Academy Saturday afternoon, October 2nd.
