Ellsworth Girls 41 GSA 37

The Ellsworth Girl's Basketball Team defeated George Stevens Academy 41-37 in Blue Hill on Tuesday, January 26th as Hannah Sargent scored a career high 14 points, including 4 3-pointers.

GSA jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the 1st Quarter. Morgan Dauk had 5 points, Hanna Gutow had a 3-pointer and Mazie Smallidge had 2 points for GSA. Madison Card had all of Ellsworth's points, including a 3-pointer.

GSA led at the 1st Half, 17-11. For GSA, Dauk had 4 points, and Gutow had 3 points. For Ellsworth Kate Whitney, Samantha Mason, and Card each had 2 points while Katelynn Bagley had 1 point.

In the 3rd Quarter, Ellsworth took the lead for the 1st time, with 3:40 remaining, a lead they would never relinquish. Hannah Sargent had 11 of Ellsworth's 15 points, draining 3 3-pointers, while Card and Whitney each chipped in with 2 points. For GSA, Dauk had 4 points, Margaret Brooks had 2 points and Mazie Smallidge had 1 point.

In the 4th Quarter, Whitney had 4 points, Card and Sargent each had a 3-pointer, Kacie Omlor had 3 points and Callie Hammer had 2 points for Ellsworth. For GSA, Dauk had 8 points, and Gutow had 5 points including a 3-pointer.

Ellsworth was led by Hannah Sargent with 14 points, while Madison Card had 11 points and Kate Whitney had 8 points. Ellsworth was 3-7 from the free throw line.

GSA was led by Morgan Dauk with a game high 21 points while Hanna Gutow had 11 points. GSA was 9-14 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 10-5 and have 3 games remaining, at home on Thursday, January 28th against Orono, at the Cross Center on Saturday, January 30th at 5:30 PM and home against MDI on Senior Night on Wednesday, February 3rd. All games will be on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

GSA is now 11-4 and plays at home on Friday January 29th against Lee Academy and against Penquis Valley on Monday, February 1st and away at Searsport on Wednesday, February 3rd.
