EF1 Tornado Confirmed in Washington County on August 12

The National Weather Service in Caribou has confirmed that a EF1 tornado touched down at 5:40 PM on Monday, August 12th. It was estimated that wind speeds were 90 miles per hours. It touched down in Kossuth Township in Washington County.

The confirmed path of the tornado was a 1/4 mile with a maximum path width of 200 yards.

The picture above shows damage, there were 120 trees taken down by the tornado.

This was the 1st confirmed tornado in Maine in 2019
