Conversation with Chief Moshier [VIDEO]
Using funding supplied by the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety, the Ellsworth Police Department and Hancock County Sheriff's Departments will be conducting sobriety checkpoints which will occur between 9 PM on Friday, May 12th through Saturday, May 13th at 2 AM. According to the Ellsworth Police Department’s Facebook Page checkpoints will take place along Main Street and Routes 1 and 3.
WDEA's Chris Popper spoke to Ellsworth Police Chief Glenn Moshier on Tuesday, May 9th about the sobriety checkpoints that are being conducted with the Hancock County Sheriff's Department. Chief Moshier explained why they announce when and where the sobriety checkpoints are being conducted and answers concerns that these are stops and searches without cause.
