WIC Needs Your Help to Make 4th Annual Community Baby Shower a Success
The Woman's Infant and Children's Program of Hancock and Washington County needs your help to make their 4th Annual Community Baby Shower a success on Saturday, September 6th from 10 to Noon at the Moore Community Center in Ellsworth.
They need packages of diapers and wipes! If you have children out of diapers you may have forgotten how many diapers infants go through in a day! And you may have gladly forgotten how much diapers cost!
As a first time grandfather, I know first hand the price of diapers, and wipes and they've gone up a lot in price since my children were little. But one thing that hasn't changed is that babies go through a lot of diapers! Not sure how many diapers they go through? Consider this...
- Babies 2 to 4 months old - Up to 10 diapers a day, or 300 a month
- Babies 5 to 8 months old - Up to 9 diapers a day or 270 a month
- Babies 9 to 12 month old - Up to 7 diapers a day or 210 a month
When you consider a diaper costs around 40 cents each your looking at a cost of $84 to $120.00 a month just in diapers!
So how can you help? Can you buy a bag or box of diapers? Maybe add a box of wipes too? Then drop them off at the WIC Office in the Mill Mall. They are located in the back, closest to the Downeast Family YMCA, or you can drop them off at the Moore Community Center on Saturday, September 6th between 10am and noon. .
Wouldn't it be awesome for every family that the Woman's and Infant Program of Hancock and Washington County serves to receive at least a package of diapers and wipes and more? It could happen, and I bet will happen with your generosity!
If you are pregnant, or hoping to become pregnant, post-partum, breast or formula feeding YOU are the guest of honor at the 4th Annual Community Baby Shower. Come meet with lots of agencies and businesses that will be displaying lots of helpful information and hopefully win a door prize!
