Patricia Schimpf, Miss Maine for America Strong joined WDEA's Chris Popper to talk about the 1st local event that she will be appearing at. It will be at Burke's Hollow in Southwest Harbor, on Sunday, May 9th, Mother's Day, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and she will be appearing with her Mom!

Principals Rhonda Fortin from the Pemetic School in Southwest Harbor and Jandrea True from the Tremont Consolidated School in Tremont/Bass Harbor joined WDEA's Chris Popper to talk about the proposed Tremont-Southwest Harbor joint pre-K program planned for 2021.

Rachel Emus from Healthy Acadia joined WDEA's Chris Popper Wednesday morning, April 14th to talk about the progress being made in reaching Healthy Acadia's $40,000 goal for the Hancock County Food Drive and to give out information about the Food Box Drops April 20th, in Trenton and in Bucksport.

Monday morning we were able to sit down over the computer with Tricia and find out about the pageant experience. What it was like to keep hearing her name being called as she won the Fitness/Swimsuit competition, the Evening Gown Competition, Most Photogenic and Inspirational Women! Plus she told us how it was to wake up this morning and see the tiara/crown on her bedside table!

You can donate to your favorite player(s) and pledge a flat amount or per hit. You can set a maximum donation. All proceeds will go to equipment that the Softball Team needs that isn't in the budget, and 10 percent of all money collected will be donated to the Emmaus Homeless Shelter in Ellsworth.

Rachel Emus from Healthy Acadia joined WDEA's Chris Popper to talk about the 10th Annual Hancock County Food Drive that begins April 3rd and runs throughout the month. You can make a difference and fight food insecurity by donating during the kick-off events this Saturday, April 3rd from 10 to 2 at 10 different locations in Hancock County.

Tashia Porter is competing for the 2nd year in a row for Mrs. Maine, as Mrs. Hancock County.

Trenton Volunteer Fire Department Chief, Steve Corson continued the discussion with WDEA's Chris Popper about the proposed new fire station and gave a virtual tour of it.

After being closed for over a year because of COVID-19, The Grand in Downtown Ellsworth will be open for school vacation week April 19 to April 23, showing the Pixar movie "Onward" for just $1.00 at 1 p.m. daily.
