Ellsworth Softball Hit-A-Thon to Benefit Team and Emmaus Homeless Shelter [VIDEO]
The Ellsworth High School Softball Team will be hosting their Annual Hit-A-Thon which will not only benefit the softball team, but this year, 10 percent of all the funds raised will be donated to the Emmaus Homeless Shelter in Ellsworth!
The premise of the Hit-A-Thon is simple. Each player takes 100 swings in the batting cage against the pitching machine, throwing 55 mile hour pitches. The players can take a short break after every 25 pitches, or just gut it up and take no breaks! Any ball hit that goes forward is considered a hit. A ball that is either taken or a swing and a miss or a foul backwards is considered a non-hit.
You can donate to your favorite player(s) and pledge a flat amount or per hit. You can set a maximum donation. All proceeds will go to equipment that the Softball Team needs that isn't in the budget, and 10 percent of all money collected will be donated to the Emmaus Homeless Shelter in Ellsworth.
If you have any questions, please email Ellsworth Head Softball Coach Jake Hackett at jhackett@ellsworthschools.org
I was able to take 10 swings back in 2019 during the Hit-A-Thon. It isn't as easy as it sounds!
