Rachel Emus from Healthy Acadia joined WDEA's Chris Popper Wednesday morning, April 14th to talk about the progress being made in reaching Healthy Acadia's $40,000 goal for the Hancock County Food Drive and to give out information about the Food Box Drops April 20th, in Trenton and in Bucksport.

The month long event, which kicked off on Saturday April 3rd has been successful, but there's still a ways to go. Approximately $22,000 has been collected, with nearly $10,000 on the 1st day. But that still leaves $18.000 to go. If you wish to donate, you can do so safely and securely online HERE

The Miles for Meals program runs next week, April 17-24 during School Vacation. Get pledges and run, walk, bike, hike or even skip and help raise money to feed those in need in Hancock County!

This Tuesday, April 20th, 1000 food boxes will be distributed in Trenton and Bucksport, 500 in each location. They will be at the Acadia Gateway Center on Route 3 in Trenton beginning at 10 a.m. and  also at the Bucksport Methodist Church at 3 River Road beginning at 2 p.m.  Boxes will be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis.  No paperwork or preregistration is needed.
