Brewer Freshman Defeat MDI Green Team 40-28 [PHOTOS/STATS]
The Brewer Boys Freshman Team used a 20-2 run in the 4th Quarter to defeat the MDI Green JV Team, Saturday afternoon January 30th in the home opener at Bernard Parady Gymnasium.

Brewer led 9-5 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Tanner Butterfield had a 3-pointer for the Witches and Jeriah Chibuye, Cayen Philbrook and Ryan Ford each had 2 points. For MDI Alex Yeadon had a 3-pointer and Evan Ankrom was 2-2 from the free throw line.
In the 2nd Quarter MDI outscored Brewer 13-3 to take a 18-12 led at the end of the 1st Half. Jack Hodgdon had 7 points with a 3-pointer for the Trojans. Yeadon and Ankrom each had 3 points. For the Witches Liam McAlexander had a 3-pointer.
In the 3rd Quarter each team scored 8 points and MDI led at the end of the 3rd Quarter 26-20. For MDI Sam Sinclair and Alex Yeadon each had a 3-pointer while Jack Hodgdon had 2 points. For Brewer, Andrew Hodgins and Cayen Philbrook each had 3 points while Jeriah Chibuye had 2 points.
The 4th Quarter was all Brewer, as they took advantage of MDI's fouling and went 10-14 from the free throw line. Liam McAlexander had 6 points, Hodgins had 5 points, Philbrick 4 points and Chibuye 2 points. MDI's lone points came from Evan Ankrom
MDI was led by Alex Yeadon and Jack Hodgdon each with 9 points. The Trojans were 4-6 from the free throw line.
Brewer was led by Liam McAlexander and Cayen Philbrick each with 9 points.s The Witches were 12-16 from the free throw line.
MDI is now 0-2. They will play at Hampden on Monday, February 1st at 3:30. The game was originally scheduled for February 2nd but has been moved because of the impending storm.
