Blue Hill Boy To Compete on Food Network Show

One of my favorite TV channels is the Food Network. I have watched it for years.

Imagine my surprise to know that 11-year-old Colby Lacasse from Blue Hill will be appearing in episodes of Kids Baking Championship which will premiere on Monday, Jan. 4 at 8 p.m.

Colby is the son of Katye and Jim Lacasse of Blue Hill. Katye is the girl's soccer coach at Ellsworth High School.

We will have more information leading up to the season premiere but it sounds like this is going to be a great show. It's hosted by professional baker and chef Duff Goldman and Valerie Bertinelli and the winner will walk away with $25,000 and the title of Kid's Baking Champion!

The initial episode is "Pie a la Mode" and the 10 kid bakers are working on creating the perfect pie and filling, when they're challenged to also make a flavored ice cream from scratch!

Mark your calendar and get ready to cheer Colby on as he competes in the challenges!
