Be the Change Ellsworth – 2021 [UPDATE]
12/1 UPDATE - Conner and Ellie will be at Friends and Family Market as opposed to the Downeast Family YMCA for the Saturdays in December
Last year Conner Wagstaff and his girlfriend Ellie Clarke started a group "Be the Change Ellsworth" where they set up at the Downeast Family YMCA in Ellsworth and collected items to be given to local organizations. Well, they are at it again in 2021, and this year's recipients are The SPCA of Hancock County and Downeast Community Partners. Here are the details.
They will be set up at the Downeast Family YMCA on Saturday mornings 9-11 a.m. beginning this Saturday, November 27th through December 18th. They are collecting for the SPCA of Hancock County. They are accepting things like things like blankets, beds, pet food, and toys. Note the SPCA just recently ran out of cat food pate, so that would be a great donation!
They also will be accepting cash donations which will go to pay for surgeries for the animals that the SPCA of Hancock County are responsible for. They have a goal of collecting $10,000. They do have a Venmo account if that is easier for you to donate @BeTheChange2021
On Sundays, in December, December 5th and 12 they will be at Crossfit Breakwater at the Mill Mall in Ellsworth collecting toys for Downeast Community Partners. Crossfit Breakwater's Toy Drive runs November 29th through December 18th. Crossfit Breakwater is located in the Mill Mall on the backside, closest to Dunkin’ Donuts

The one thing that I have been amazed at in the 36 years that I have lived in Maine is the willingness for Mainers to rally together and to help Mainers in need. If you can help I know that it will be most appreciated and go to help our friends and neighbors Downeast and the animals in the care of the SPCA of Hancock County
