This will break your heart. In Portland, Oregon, 59-year-old Timothy Dean Alsip was arrested after allegedly attempting to rob a Bank of America branch. He reportedly told the teller "This is a hold up," and then asked for a single dollar bill. After the teller handed over the single dollar, Alsip went and sat in the lobby to wait for police. Mr. Alsip is homeless. He's also ill and said he did it so he would be put in jail and could get some healthcare. Originally charged with both second-degree robbery and third-degree theft, the robbery charge was dismissed. He remains on bail having failed to pay a $40,000 bail on the theft charge. He has no prior criminal record.
