MDI Hospital’s New Traffic Pattern Effective March 16
Effective Monday, March 16th, MDI Hospital is instituting a new traffic pattern on the their campus, which is expected to remain in effect thru the rest of the year and thru 2027.
These adjustments reflect MDI Hospital's commitment to making your experience as accessible and safe as possible during construction on the campus. An additional Emergency Department parking area will provide spaces near the Main Entrance for pedestrians to easily access vital services. This required a reworking of the overall traffic flow. These updates are designed to improve wayfinding, reduce parking challenges, and ensure clear access for emergency vehicles and patients. Please read the following information and refer to the attached map, as this change will take place on Monday, March 16th and is expected to remain through 2027. Signage on campus will reflect this change.
Entering Campus
All traffic for the Main Entrance and Emergency Department will still use Wayman Lane and only enter campus using the second left by the picnic area. Once on campus, please follow the updated directional signs:
- For Routine Services & General Parking:
After turning onto the MDI Hospital campus, stay left to follow the one-way traffic pattern leading toward the Main Entrance. All routine appointments, outpatient services, and general parking are accessible from this route. - For Emergency Department Patients:
After turning onto the MDI Hospital campus, veer right for Emergency Department patient parking. From there, please follow the signage guiding you to the pedestrian entrance tunnel.
For everyone’s safety, do not park next to the tunnel or in any area that is not designated as a parking space. Vehicles parked in undesignated areas may obstruct the ambulance path and block access to the Emergency Department Bay.
Exiting Campus
When leaving the Emergency Department parking area, please do not exit to Wayman Lane the same way you entered. Instead, follow the one-way traffic pattern along the building to exit the campus. Directional "one-way" signs will guide you along the proper route.
