6:44 p.m. UPDATE - Power has been restored in the Bar Harbor area

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday, September 7th, Labor Day, 523 Versant Power customers were without power in the Bar Harbor area.

According to Versant Power's Outage and Restoration website, power went out at 5:12 p.m. with power expected to be restored by 7:30 p.m. If you see downed power lines, please stay clear of them, and move over if linecrew are working on the sides of the road, so they can restore power as quickly and as safely as possible.

From Facebook posts, we have heard that there was a line down on the Russell Road, which was live and sparking. Fire department personnel were on scene

If we receive any information from Versant regarding this power outage, we will update this post.
